I came across Snippet and Ink (via Design Mom ) yesterday....what a brilliant way to "do something creative everyday."
This has inspired me to do a board....and to take it one step further, wouldn't it be cool to do a music mix to go with the board, hmm....now for a theme.
I notice myself getting more into collage work lately... This morning I came across the work of Tiphanie Brooke (via Love Made Visible) and had to check out her website. In addition to her prints she has great handmade books for sale. Her use of color is and composition is lovely.
Ingo Maurer, one of my favorite designers of light objects, is having an exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum entitled "Provoking Magic."
He approaches light and lighting objects in a completely unique way. I just love the chandelier-like designs he did below.
I came across the lovely work of A Liason (via mocoloco) and liked it immediately. Created by daughter Katrin (photographer) and mother Anne (textile designer) team. Their pieces show "everyday life which we see but often overlook."
I just adore their skirts! The line also features accessories and home decor.
I am in awe of Richard Sweeney's paper sculptures. He truly explores and understands his medium. His primary methods include cutting, scoring and folding....that's IT! Beautiful...
I just discovered COLOURlovers, a fantastic site for finding, creating and sharing color palettes. A sort-of social networking site for color! Very innovative concept for artists, designers, etc...
Here are just a few of the recent top palettes. Yummy...
This typeface first caught my eye a couple of years ago. Designed by Frank Rocholl , inspired by the Eames alu chair. Very different. Check out the 'g'. Lovin' it.
